I’m proud to say that I’ve been selected as one of 80 people in the community as an EMC Elect 2014 member. I’m humbled and honored to be included in this group. What is EMC Elect, well, “EMC Elect is a community-driven recognition and thank you for individual’s engagement with EMC as a brand over the last calendar year.” For more info check out Welcoming the EMC Elect of 2014. I was fortunate in 2013 to speak publically at numerous EMC, VMware, and partner events. In addition, I’ve got this blog and the EMC Community Network where I post answers to questions people have asked me or provide information I think people would like to know. And finally, I tweet every once in awhile. I can’t say I’m anywhere near as active as the majority of the people on this list. But every little bit counts even if helps just a few. Anyone can do it.
In Feb 2010 I was asked by a good friend to join EMC’s new vSpecialist team. Go Team 1! I can’t say I knew exactly what I was getting myself into at the time but it sounded exciting. And it was. I wasn’t an EMC fan at the time but it turned out to be the best job ever and best group of people I had ever had the opportunity to work with, hands down, from my peers all the way up to the top. I’m now at VMware in their Software Defined Storage division and it feels a lot like 2010 again. EMC & VMware are two great companies, I’m lucky in my career to be part of this community, and I will continue to contribute what I can.
